SCSI Hard Disk Drives: Sizes of logical allocation blocks
The logical allocation block size, the minimum number of bytes used to store
a file, depends on the hard disk:
Logical
Allocation
Block size
SCSI Hard Disk (in bytes)
Apple HD 20SC 512
Apple HD 40SC 1024
Apple HD 80SC 1536
For example, saving a 30 byte file requires 512 bytes of storage on a HD
20SC, 1K on a HD 40SC, and 1.5K on an 80SC. This means that data copied from
a HD 20SC requires more room on a HD 40SC or HD 80SC.
